AVID Social Studies 7: Mrs. Kruse My name is Mrs. Kruse and I am the 7th AVID Geography teacher. I was born and raised near Columbus, Ohio; later, I graduated from Otterbein College in Westerville, Ohio and I took classes at Ohio State and Valencia Community College. To my Geography class, I bring stories and photos of my journeys to various parts of the world. In addition, I am married, have two daughters, and three grandchildren. Geography by definition is the study of the earth and how people use it. Seventh grade Geography includes the study of North America, South America, and Europe. Students should expect to read, write, and take notes. Class activities will emphasize study and organizational skills. Cornell notes will be taught and a notebook will be required. As the year progresses, students will do research projects, take part in philosophical chairs and Socratic seminars. Students will learn about these engaging activities at a later time.
