SCMS SUMMER SPIRIT
Summer SPIRIT Bus Route
Attention Parents:
Are you looking for a way to keep your middle schooler busy throughout the summer? Are you looking for a way for them to make new friends and experience exciting activities such as painting, sports, arts & crafts, computer games, fun science activities, and much, much, more; a way for them to go on exciting field trips to the Orlando History Museum, and Orlando Science Center? How about a program that will not only keep your child busy, but is also completely free? If your answer is yes to these questions then you need to sign your child up for the SCMS Summer SPIRIT Program!
The Summer SPIRIT Program will run Monday through Thursday for 5 weeks, beginning on Monday, June 13th, 2011 and ending on Thursday, July 14th, 2011. The program will start promptly at 8:00 a.m. and will end at 4:00 p.m. Children may not get dropped off at the school earlier then 7:30 a.m. Bus transportation is available or children may ride their bike, walk, or be dropped off and picked up from the school by a parent. The bus schedule is posted at the top of this page. It is imperative that your child is at the school on time since we will be going on field trips and going off-site for activities.
Throughout our Summer SPIRIT Program we will be providing your child with a morning snack and lunch. Please make note of any food allergies or medical conditions that your child has on the Summer SPIRIT Program information sheet so that we may be able to make special accommodations where they are needed. Also, please be aware that it is crucial that your child attends on a daily basis. Our Summer Program has a limited number of spaces available, so if you decide to send your child to our program we will be looking to see them everyday on our attendance report. If there are gaps in the attendance of your child to our program, they will be replaced with a child from our “waiting list.” Please be considerate of other parents who would also like their child to attend the program.
Applications may be picked up from the front office. Once you have turned in your application you may assume that your child is registered and ready to attend unless we notify you that the program is already full. If you have any questions or concerns, please call Mr. Zenzel or Mr. Thomson at the school (407-891-3200) and we will be happy to talk with you.
